It's Magic.
Last nights run was magic. A simple 10 mile run with a few friends.
You know the type of run. It starts out like any run then somewhere about 2 to 3 miles out you just know. This is magic.
Pure magic. All injures are gone, every part of your body and mind is just floating down the road. You have full control. Speed up "No Problem", Slow down to let the runners you are with catch up, "No Problem" ( these runners beat this old Clydesdale every time we run. Not tonight!)
Why? What is it about tonight? Where did I get this energy? How do I keep it? Can I make it better?
Then I think. I am thinking to much, asking why and how and if.
This is magic. I know the magic will be back. Magic can't happen everyday. I could train twice a day, I could eat nothing but salads, I could do speed and hill training. None of these will guarantee that I feel the magic again. No, it's a gift.
I just say thank you, enjoy the magic, and run on.
